Bad Coffee Part Two

My body tingling, and my mind is wandering. I am completely useless at work now and it is all Lisa's fault. I laugh to myself, then I pick up my phone to text her. Lisa had written her number on the coffee cup that she had given me; smooth. I'm smiling as I text her.

"I presume this is the phone number of that gorgeous woman in the blue dress that has rendered me useless at work today?"

I wait for a reply for a few minutes and then assume she is busy and try to work again. I can still smell her. I'm reading through emails at work, but retaining no information. My phone dings.

"Only if this is the handsome man that hides his big biceps in a suit jacket and drinks bad coffee."
"I happen to like bad coffee," I tease.
"You must like it. I see you there almost every day."
"It's not for the coffee..."
"Oh, no?"
"Nope. There is this really hot lady that keeps showing up there and teasing me with her wily charms. I think she drinks too much coffee though," I laugh again.
"That's terrible! What do you plan on doing about that?" I like that Lisa is playing along.
"I think I'm going to take her to dinner, so I can show her what else there is to have in this great country besides bad coffee."
"That sounds like a great plan. Do you have a place in mind?"
"There is this awesome sushi place close to my work, how about tomorrow night? I can meet  you at the coffee shop at 7."
"Sounds great. I'll see you there." I'm excited. Flirting with Lisa has become my new favorite hobby.

As I pull up in front of the coffee shop, I see Lisa leaning up against the side of her car waiting for me. It's exactly seven o'clock when I park behind her car, so I hope she hasn't been waiting long.
"Hello, beautiful. Have you got plans for tonight?"
"Hey," she says as she stands up straight and smiles at me. "Yeah, I'm supposed to meet some guy here for dinner."
"At a coffee shop?" I place my hand on her waist and kiss her cheek, then things get hot and heavy. She pulls me in for a long and deep kiss, surprising me right off my feet. I didn't know I had been wanting to kiss her for the past couple of months until right at that moment. Unfortunately, we're interrupted by the arrival of the Uber driver. Or maybe it's fortunate; I'm ravished and I don't think that my stomach would appreciate me skipping a meal for a full body workout right now. Lisa has the sexiest blush running up her face from our quick make out session. I would like to make her face look like that more often.
"That sounds awful," I say with a teasing smile. "Let me whisk you away to a real dinner." I walk her to the car and hold the door open for her. The restaurant is only a few minutes away but as we drive along, Lisa and I hold hands. It is the simplest, innocent thing, but I can still feel the electricity coming off of her.
As we sit together in the back of the car, I'm amazed at the tingling feeling Lisa is giving me. I haven't felt like this in a really long time. Her thigh is pushed right up against mine and our hands are resting on my thigh; she isn't going overboard. I don't appreciate it when women have such little respect for themselves that they throw themselves onto me. It's happened more times than I can count and it is one of the biggest turn-offs for me. Here, with Lisa, she is walking the line very well. She is letting me know that she's into me and not being vulgar about it in the slightest. She is making me crave time with her and I'm looking forward to dinner and after dinner with her

Lisa and I walk into the restaurant hand-in-hand and proceed to find a good seat at the sushi bar.
"This is exciting. I've never been to a sushi bar before," Lisa tells me.
"Oh man. Okay. Do you like sushi?" I ask her, a little worriedly.
"Yeah. Don't worry! I just haven't been to a restaurant where they make it right in front of you like this. This is great," she says with a reassuring smile. I smile in return.
"If you're okay with it, I think we should just get the Omakase. It means chef's choice. They make whatever is the best and get creative with it. I have never been disappointed."
"That sounds wonderful." I order the Omakase and two green teas.
"You look beautiful tonight," I say as I turn slightly towards Lisa.
"Thank you. You don't look too bad yourself," Lisa teases. "I'm glad to see you own something other than a suit," she says as she runs her hand slowly up my bicep. I chose to wear a dark-blue button up and dark-grey dress pants for tonight. The shirt doesn't necessarily 'show off' the biceps that she was talking about, but it is a little tight around them. Coincidentally enough, Lisa also decided to wear blue tonight but not the same dark-blue and black lace dress from the other day. She looks amazing in anything. Tonight she is wearing a white knee-length skirt with a long-sleeve dark-blue blouse.

"We kind of match tonight, don't we?" I ask.
"Yeah, I guess we do, huh? Were you spying on me?" She gives me a devilish look again. Does she want to be spied on?
"Don't I wish," I say with a matching devilish grin.
"I think you are trouble."
"I might be but I think you're trouble too." I can feel my heart speeding up. Lisa is the kind of trouble that I would like to get into.
"I'm not. I'm perfect," she says with a laugh.
"Oh, okay, Ms. Perfect. What do you do for a living? Save sad, little homeless puppies? Save the world from starvation?"
"Nope. I save people from buying ugly houses. It's a public service, really."
"Ah. Real estate, huh? Very nice."

The first course of our meal is set down in front of us along with our teas; tiny pieces of smoked salmon with a little scoop of tofu.
"Oh, my goodness, this looks amazing."
"Enjoy," I say as we dig in. "I never really understood real estate. Escrow and mortgages and blah blah." I can't even get through the sentence without laughing; Lisa is giving me a dirty look.
"Well then it's good you aren't a real estate agent. Do you save the world from starvation and find homes for all the puppies and kitties?"
"Nope! Saving the world is too much work. I just save companies from big bad guys trying to break into their servers."
"Oh, so then no big deal," Lisa says, giggling.

We finish up the first course and the second course is brought to us. It's red snapper and squid on ice with some wasabi on the side.
"Beautiful," Lisa says to the head chef. It is beautiful. The beauty and art form of sushi has always been one of my favorite things about it. The chef has put in so much detail and hard work, sometimes it is almost to pretty to eat.
"So  what do you do when you aren't saving companies from total destruction?" Lisa askes in between bites of her food.
"I love being outside, hiking, fishing, gardening, house projects. What about you?" I ask with a smile.
"Eh. Maybe not so much outdoors," she giggles. "I'd rather go out dancing or go see a movie."
"Those are fun too," I say. "I can't remember the last time that I went to the movie theaters. I don't even know what's playing right now."
"Well, we should go sometime," Lisa suggests.
"We can definitely do that." I wouldn't say that it is getting uncomfortable to sit next to Lisa, but the tension is there. I am having a great dinner with her and am intrigued to find out what makes her crazy. "What kind of movies do you like to spend your money on?" I ask.
"Anything really. I like the gore, and the chic flicks, and the comedies. I'm not tooo particular. I guess maybe not a sob-fest. I don't want to spend my money crying in a theater and ruining my make-up when I can just do that at home, after it comes out on DVD," she and I both laugh.
"I can understand that. I'm not a huge fan of the stupid funny ones. I don't find them funny."
"Yeah, it seems like sometimes they try too hard, and that takes all the funny out of it."

Our little plates are cleared away and the third course is set down in front of us. This course contains beautifully prepared shrimp, mushrooms, and eggplant with some soy sauce.
"Oh, my goodness. How many courses are there?" Lisa asks. They are small little servings because it has so many dishes. I like that Lisa and I can experience this together, she looks like she is having a great time.
"There are five courses. Well, six, if you count dessert as a course."
"Magnificent. I think this is my new favorite restaurant," Lisa says, pleased. The chef smiles and bows with gratitude.
"I'm very glad that you are having such a wonderful time. I know that not everyone really enjoys sushi, or even seafood. But if you enjoy it, this is the best way to have it. It's an entirely new experience, isn't it?"
"I have to agree. There is no other way to have sushi now. You've ruined it for me!"

The chef is smiling, enjoying our gratitude and teasing. The fourth course contains grilled black cod, on fancy ceramic plates. I cannot tell if each course is just as equally amazing as the last or if dinner is getting better with each course.
"I don't know how much of this I can take," Lisa says with a smile, still fully enjoying every bit.
"Only one more, don't give up on me now."

I lean over and kiss Lisa on the cheek, she places her hand on my jaw, making the kiss sweet with her soft embrace. The fifth course is a long pate of Nigiri sushi. Each of the pieces are beautiful by themselves; perfectly place and bright in color.
"Have you had Nigiri before?" I ask.
"No."
"Okay, you have to put the whole of the piece in your mouth at once, fish-side down though, like this." I place one entire piece in my mouth and chew slowly. My taste buds light up, and I close my eyes. When I open my eyes again, Lisa is watching every move that I make, staring intently. "Then you cleanse your pallet with a piece of ginger before the next one," I say as I place a sliver of ginger on my tongue slowly. "Your turn," I say to her with a wink.
"Show me again," Lisa whispers. I grab the matching piece of Nigiri, turn it over in my fingers, and slowly bring it to her mouth. Lisa leans toward me and slowly opens her mouth, never taking her eyes off of me. I can't think of ano0ther time that I have fed a woman, but it is seductive and wonderful; my fingers barely grazing her lips as she closes her mouth. She closes her eyes and I know the outbursts of tastes that she is enjoying right now. She let's a satisfying, soft, 'mmm' sound escape her. I watch every movement of her face and smile as she opens her eyes. I feed her a sliver of ginger

"What do you think?" I ask, our faces only inches away from each other.
"It's amazing," Lisa whispers. "This is by far, my favorite dish."
"You haven't even tried the other four pieces," I say with a smile. I lean closer still to Lisa and kiss her soft lips; quickly but sweetly. Then I straighten up in my chair and reach for another piece of Nigiri from the long plate. "Shall we?" Lisa grasps the matching piece to my own.
"One, two, three," Lisa says smiling and we both place the pieces wholly in our mouths. This piece is sharper, crisp, and tangy. The rice is airy, light and filling. "It's quite perfect," Lisa says as she slides a piece of ginger in between her lips.

We go about finishing the Nigiri plate, piece by piece and enjoy every wonderful mouthful. It is largely satisfying. Lisa and I finished off our green teas and sat back, satisfied; smiles on our faces. The final course, dessert, consisted of panna cotta and sweet strawberries. It was a perfect end to such a delicious dessert. I fed Lisa a bite of mine and she fed a bite of hers to me.
"Absolutely, delicious."
"I could not agree more," Lisa said, licking honey off of her lips. I placed another kiss onto her sweet lips, they tasted of honey that she missed; I licked my lips afterward.
"You are almost as sweet as those strawberries."
"Same to you, kind sir." Lisa placed her napkin on to her empty plate and placed her hands into her lap watching me. "Should we have a drink to end this wonderful dinner?"
"I think that is a wonderful idea, but let's go down the road a bit for that," I suggest. I pay for our meal and start to gather our jackets. "Ready?" I place my hand on the small of her back and follow Lisa out to the waiting Uber car.

Bad Coffee Part One

Caffeine makes the world go round; America especially. Stop by any coffee shop on a busy weekday morning and you're bound to see a dozen, half-asleep people waiting in life for coffee; no matter the quality. It's the only drink that is going to help the working-class zombies get through the awful workday that awaits them without stabbing someone in the face.

At one particular coffee shop, I have met a woman. I don't know much about her, except her name, Lisa. Lisa and I have been running into each other over coffee for months. At this point, I look forward to seeing this mysterious woman, that I barely know, every day before work. I think that the universe puts people in your path for a reason. I haven't figured out what the reasoning behind Lisa and I using the same coffee shop every day is yet, but I know it's not the coffee. The sludge that they offer to their customers is mediocre on its best day and a waste of my money and time on its worst day. I keep coming back for the companionship though; the little tidbits of conversation and flirtatious glances back and forth. Over the months, Lisa and I haven't said more than a handful of words to each other at a time. She gives me this devilish look when she speaks to me though, like she wants to have me for breakfast; it sets my insides on fire.

I don't even know what she does for a living, but she dresses well for it. Lisa is almost always in a knee-length, body-tight dress and heels. Today she arrived before I did, and is waiting by the pick-up section of the counter for her coffee. She is wearing a dark-blue, knee length, cap-sleeve dress that is trimmed in black lace. The heels are black lace with a thin heel. I have no problem imagining running my hands up and down those delicious curves of hers, or peeling her out of that tight dress. I can even imagine her keeping the dress and heels on, just bending her over the counter...My thoughts are interrupted as she turns around towards me; a smile lighting up her entire face as she spots me eyeing her.

"Hey there, handsome," she says as she glides the couple of steps towards me. Lisa's hair is long, and dark chocolate brown; she has the sides and front of it pulled back away from her face in almost a retro kind of way.

"Good morning, beautiful. How is your morning going?"

"The sun is out, the birds are chirping, it's a good day." She hands me a coffee. "I got you a coffee this time, since I figured you weren't gonna be here before the morning rush." Lisa winks at me.

"Well, thank you." Lisa and I head for the door together, she was right, the line is growing and it would have made me late to work. It's not like me to sleep in, but I tossed and turned all night and missed my alarm this morning. I take a sip of my coffee, it's garbage, and hold the door open for Lisa.

On the sidewalk, we are about to part ways, on to our respective places of employment but she grabs onto my bicep with her free hand, making me instinctively flex. She pulls me closer to her and pushes the entire length of her slender body within centimeters of mine. I am immediately thrown off, and intrigued, and on fire. Lisa lightly brushes her cheek along mine, putting her lips so close that she is almost touching my ear. I close my eyes. I can feel the strength in her grasp on my bicep, her nails ready to dig in through my suit jacket, not willing to let me go. I can feel the electricity flowing off her body, yelling and screaming to mine. I can feel the perfect, softness of her cheek, teasing and taunting my own. I can feel her warm, sweet, breath tickling my ear and making goosebumps run down my neck. I can smell her hair, she smells like warm sun and honey. I keep my eyes closed, every nerve ending in my body is sparking, tingling, and going crazy.

"Now, you owe me," Lisa whispers into my ear and walks away. Holy shit. That will wake you up. Lisa and I have never touched before. I have fantasized of it countless times, but we have never gotten that close in the months that we've been buying coffee together. I open my eyes as she is walking away from me; I just watch her go. Lisa doesn't look back; she knows she doesn't have to. She can probably feel the electricity from my body screaming for hers from right where I stand. Wow. Lisa turns the corner and disappears from my view. I take a deep breath, shake my head, turn heel and head to work with a smile on my face. I take another sip of my coffee. Yep, it still tastes like shit, but I drink it anyways. This is the best damn coffee I've had in a long time.
